Dear Parents / Teachers / Friends,
A: Thank You and Goodbye
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you and goodbye to the students who are leaving us. Thank you for being part of our school from 2022 to 2025 — three and a half memorable years. We will miss you dearly.
We would also like to extend our appreciation to the students who are continuing with us.
We sincerely apologise that, during the past three and a half years, students were not allowed a break to have snacks or drinks. This was due to the letting policy of Thomas Tallis School. However, we are pleased to announce that, thanks to repeated requests made by Mrs Chan, the letting department has agreed to allow students a break for snacks and drinks from September 2026 onwards.
B: You Should Feel Proud to Be Our Students Our school has a long and proud history:
– In 2003, Greenwich Chinese Community School was honoured with the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award. This prestigious award recognised the dedication of our 39 volunteer teachers. We are proud to be the only Chinese organisation in the UK to receive this award.
– In 2004, our headteacher, Mrs Josephine S. Chan, was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen, in recognition of her outstanding service to the community.
– In 1981, Mrs Chan was the first teacher to establish a Cantonese school in Greenwich, starting with only five children. Eight years later, the school had grown to 680 pupils, operating out of Meridian School, SE10.
– In 2022, Mrs Chan founded the first Cantonese-only language school in SE3, Blackheath. Since then, we have been proudly based at Thomas Tallis School.
– In 2026, Mrs Chan will continue to support the development and wellbeing of our students.

If you wish to continue studying with us after September 2025, please call us on 0208 858 2410, Monday to Saturday, between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
